WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Shannon Shaw, middle school teacher at Assumption Catholic Middle School, has been named the 2018-19 Middle School Teacher of the Year by the Office of Catholic Schools for the Diocese. The award was presented at the annual spring teacher in-service.
Shaw was nominated for the award by a fellow teacher. Some of the comments on her nomination form were “her ability to create lessons that work for specific student needs” and “her ability to incorporate technology into classes.” She also “works hard to be proactive with the middle school students and urge them on to success.”
Equally important for Assumption Catholic Middle School is the faith witness that Shannon provides to the faculty, staff, and students. She actively promotes and prepares her students for the variety of faith activities they experience.
“She lives out her vocation as a Catholic school teacher,” said Assumption Daniel Minter. “Assumption Catholic Schools is proud to call Shannon one of our own and to be able to recognize her commitment to Catholic education.”
