For the Rapids City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The public is invited to a special viewing of the film “Soul Injury: Liberating Unmourned Loss and Unforgiven Guilt” on April 4 at 1 p.m., at the McMillan Memorial Library, 490 E. Grand Ave., Wisconsin Rapids.

This event is for anyone who is suffering from or interested in understanding the invisible, penetrating wounds of emotional and psychological trauma. This audience includes veterans; first responders; and victims of sexual assault, crime, accidents, natural disasters, abuse, neglect, addiction, burn-out, or any debilitating circumstance. Professional and personal caregivers, health care and social service clinicians, as well as those working in the nursing home, hospital, funeral home, or faith community may also benefit from the ideas and strategies presented.

Although the film has relevance for many, Soul Injury was initially created with veterans in mind.

The 90-minute video will be followed by time to share thoughts and reactions. Light refreshments will be served. For more information contact Amy Addis at 800-397-4216 or [email protected].
