WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Copps store is undergoing more changes as it converts to a Pick ‘n Save this spring.

Late last year, Kroger Co., parent company of Wisconsin Pick ‘n Save and Copps stores, purchased a segment of the Shopko pharmacy business, taking on 25 Wisconsin pharmacies including the one in Wisconsin Rapids. The acquisition brought Shopko pharmacy customers to the Rapids Kroger-owned Copps grocery store.

Wisconsin Pick ‘n Save and Copps stores are part of Milwaukee-based Roundy’s Supermarkets, a subsidiary of Cincinnati-based Kroger.

Since purchasing Roundy’s four years ago, Kroger has invested over $300 million in Wisconsin stores and has been converting its stores to Pick ‘n Save to provide continuity and become more efficient.

The Rapids Copps store is now undergoing that process, officially becoming Pick ‘n Save, while adding and/or updating their salad bar, produce and floral, deli, bakery, meat, and alcohol departments.

Managers say that the store will remain open during the entire process, which may not be completed until early June. During the conversion, the layout of the store remains in transition.
