Pittsville boys off to solid start

PITTSVILLE –The Pittsville boys baseball team is off to a solid start for the 2019 season.

Pittsville baseball had 19 hits, as it shut out Northland Lutheran at home, 27-0, on April 2.  The Panthers scored 14 of their runs in a big second inning.

Austin Fox, Matthew Kissner and Noah Cavelary all had three hits each during the game.

Winning pitcher for the Panthers was Ryan Zickert. Zickert had four strike outs and allowed zero hits and Wyatt Grimm added three more strikeouts and  allowed no hits.

On April 5, the Panthers faced the Nekoosa Papermakers in Nekoosa, scoring 14 hits, with Austin Fox securing four of them.

Fox had three RBIs, while Eric Neve, Beau Merritt, Kolton Bauer, Evan Dammann, and Eli Fox each added one, securing a 13-4 Panther win.

Pitching for Pittsville was Kolton Bauer, Ryan Zickert, and Kordell Landphier with the win.

Pittsville is off to a solid 4-0 start to the season, 1-0 Central Wisconsin South conference. Nekoosa is 0-0 in the South Central Conference, 0-2-1 overall.

No player stats were available for Nekoosa.
