For the Rapids City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – For those who would like to grow a garden but do not have the space to do so at home, the Growing Friends Community Gardens for the Wisconsin Rapids area is taking applications for garden plot rentals.

The gardens are located on the corner of Hill Street and Spruce, on land donated for use by Aspirus Riverview Hospital. Garden sizes vary and price is based on square footage. Garden compost and mulch is provided, on site, by the city. Various other materials are also available.

An orientation meeting will be held April 16, at 6:30 p.m., in the First Congregational Church, 311 Second St. South, Wisconsin Rapids. For more information, call 715-423-0350 or email growingfriendscg@gmail.com.
