WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Rapids East Grand Avenue Project begins April 8 with crews initiating street closures and detour routes. Erosion control and pavement removal are also planned to start this week.

The schedule is dependent on weather conditions and construction status. A full schedule may be found on the city’s website.

During construction, East Grand Avenue will be closed from Third Street to Eighth Street, with a detour utilizing Jackson Street.

The East Grand Avenue and Lincoln Street / East Jackson Street intersection will be closed during the second stage. This is scheduled to start mid-July and be completed mid-August.

The entire project is scheduled to be completed by November.

Updates will be made available on the city’s website https://www.wirapids.org/e-grand-ave-reconstruction.html.
