Local EAA chapter to offer free airplane rides for kids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids Chapter 706 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) is offering free airplane rides to kids ages 8-17 on May 4, 9 a.m. – noon, at the South Wood County Airport in Wisconsin Rapids.
The program, called Young Eagles Day, is a community service to educate youth about airplanes and aviation careers. In addition to a 20-minute airplane ride, kids will have the opportunity to learn how airplanes work and to build and fly compressed-air rockets.
There are limited seats available. Pre-registration is recommended online at www.youngeaglesday.com. A parent or legal guardian must be present with the child to sign a release form on the day of the event.
