For the Rapids City Times

RUDOLPH – Erin Whipple, Rudolph, set a new world record at the World Association Benchers and Deadlifters (WABDL) competition in Wisconsin Dells on April 27.

Erin, a senior at Lincoln High School, deadlifted 385.2 pounds, breaking the previous world record of 369.2 pounds for her weight class.

Erin also placed fifth at the 2019 USA Powerlifting High School National Championships held March 28-31 in Alexandria, LA.

Championships are tradition in the Whipple family, as Erin’s two older sisters also placed in the top five in national competition – Jordan in 2015 and 2016, Caitlyn in 2017 and 2018.

Erin will be attending UW-River Falls in the fall where she plans to continue powerlifting in the Barbell Club.
