Young Eagles take flight

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Nearly 60 potential future pilots took flight during the Wisconsin Rapids Chapter 706 of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Young Eagles Day at the South Wood County Airport in Wisconsin Rapids on May 4.
The event is organized to educate youth about airplanes and aviation careers.
While the participants were waiting for their turn at flight, they had an opportunity to join in a rocket building and launching class.
Following their ride, the Young Eagles received a certificate signed by the pilot. Their names will also be placed in a giant logbook at the Experimental Aircraft Headquarters in Oshkosh.
