Heuer & Becker

For the Rapids City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area has added two new members to their team – Director of Operations Kurt Heuer and Director of Marketing & Special Events Jordan Becker.

“We are so happy to welcome Kurt and Jordan to the Boys & Girls Club family. Both bring a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm for our cause, and eagerness to hit the ground running,” said Kent Anderson, executive director.

Kurt Heuer has spent the last 35 years in law enforcement, serving most recently as the Wisconsin Rapids police chief. Kurt was also the Wood County sheriff for 6.5 years.

Jordan Becker joins the Boys & Girls Club team with previous non-profit experience working for Special Olympics Wisconsin, coordinating the Polar Plunge and Run with the Cops 5k in the area. Jordan graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point in 2015, with a Bachelor of Science in Communications: Public Relations.

Kurt and Jordan come to the team, as the Boys & Girls Club has started planning for their new home, in collaboration with the YMCA. A projected opening of March 2020 leaves just under a year for the club to organize, plan, and execute a move to the new location at the former Rapids Mall.

“Kurt and Jordan bring great experience and passion to help make our Boys & Girls Club the premiere youth serving organization in our area,” added Anderson.
