Nekoosa’s Seipel and Cleary advance to state

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Two Nekoosa High School track and field team members will move on to the  2019 State Track and Field tournament after placing in the Mosinee Sectional on May 23.

Junior Emma Seipel took first place in long jump with a jump of 17′ 10.5″. Sophomore Logan Cleary took third place in discus with a throw of 146′ 11″. Logan also took third place in the shot put with a throw of 50′ 1.5″. Emma and Logan will be competing May 31-June 1 at the state meet in La Crosse.

Other notable finishes: Brant Hall, senior, fifth place in pole vault and 14th place in 300 meter hurdles; Carter Lewallen, senior, sixth place in pole vault; Reuben Freeberg, sophomore, seventh place in long jump; Matthis Kuhlke, junior, 11th place in 110-meter hurdles; Vercion Gammel, junior, 16th place in the 100-meter dash; Kya Smith, freshman, 14th place 400-meter dash; and the girls 4×100-meter relay team – Gwen Moffett, Gracie Moffett, Tanna Keenan, and Emma Seipel in 16th place.
