WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Riverkings have signed Joe Blair, a young defensemen from Colorado.

Blair played for Riverkings three-year player and 2018-19 assistant captain, Cole Creger’s brother, Chance, where he was his U16 team’s captain. Chance Creger is also a former player of Riverkings Coach Marty Quarters.

Coach Quarters commented on Joe’s skills saying:  “Joe is a young smaller defenseman with strong edges, see the ice well, and is hard to beat one on one. Having Joe practice with our team last fall, I was impressed with his passing ability and skating.

Our staff felt Joe was a sponge, and not only did he want to improve his game by asking questions, he also put in the work and showed confidence and a competitive streak.

Joe may be one of our younger players this year but being a natural leader will help us on the ice and in the locker room, plus he fits our culture of volunteering in the community. Joe will be attending Lincoln High School this fall.”
