Cranberry Blossom Festival: Your guide to the weekend

Wisconsin Rapids’ annual Cranberry Blossom Festival is June 20-23. The event features live music, arts and crafts, a parade and carnival, and all things cranberry to celebrate Wisconsin’s No. 1 fruit.

Material Girls Quilt Show

Through June 22, at the Central Wisconsin Cultural Center, 320 West Grand Ave., Wisconsin Rapids. The event features speakers, a quilt raffle, quilt appraisals, and exhibits featuring work by the Material Girls Quilt Club.

Lunch by the River

June 20, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., First Avenue South between West Grand Avenue and Chase Street, Wisconsin Rapids. Food vendors and live music highlight the event.

Sixth annual Chalk it Up

June 20, 5-8 p.m., West Grand Avenue between Second and Third  Avenue South. This year’s theme is “Lady and the Tramp.” The event is open to all artists. Participants are assigned a space to create their artwork and chalk is provided. Teams are welcome.

14th annual Cinema Under the Stars

June 20, 6:30-10:30 p.m., West Grand Avenue between Second and Third  Avenue South. This year’s movie is Lady and the Tramp. Bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Food is available for purchase. Movie is free.

June Dairy and Berry Breakfast

June 21, 6-10 a.m. at Lincoln High School, 1801 16th Street South.

Hosted by the Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce, Agri-Business Committee of the Heart of Wisconsin, and LHS FFA Chapter

Cranberry Blossom Carnival

June 21-23, 1700 block of Grove Avenue.

Enjoy rides, games and food vendors. This is a new location for the carnival.

Downtown on Tap

June 21, 6-10 p.m., Second Street North between Jackson and Oak.

A downtown block party featuring craft beers, live music, and food vendors. Bring a lawn chair.

SWC YMCA Bride 2 Bridge 5k Run/Walk

June 22, 8-11 a.m., at Witter Field, 521 Lincoln Street.

Join the fourth running of the 5k, which starts and ends at Witter Field

Love INC Open House/Cranberry Painting Party

June 22, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Love INC of South Wood County, 710 20th Avenue South.

Love INC is part of a network of 140 organizations created to transforming lives. Tour the building and participate in creating some artwork.

Arts, Crafts, & Cranberries Fair

June 22, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., West Grand Avenue between the bridge and Third Avenue South.

This event features “woodcrafts, framed art, jewelry, candles, pottery, and cranberry themed products.”

Ice Cream Social and Cranberry Exhibit

June 22, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., South Wood County Historical Museum, 540 Third Street South.

Enjoy a free scoop of ice cream, the museum grounds and exhibits.

Echos of Camp Randall/UW-Madison Marching Band Fifth Quarter

June 22, 3-4 p.m. at SWC2000 Football Field, 2711 16th Street South.

Kids Fishing Contest

June 23, 9-11:30 a.m., East River Bank, Second Street South at Maple Street.

Kids 14 and under will fish with law enforcement, with prizes awarded.

Cranberry Blossom Festival Parade

June 23, noon – 2 p.m.

The parade starts at East Grand Avenue and 11th Street, going left onto Eighth Street South to Dewey Street.

Wisconsin Rapids Aqua Skiers Show

June 23, 6-8 p.m., Lake Wazeecha, 6411 South Park Road.

Enjoy 13 ski acts with thrilling stunts by the team.
