Post 9 Rangers grab wins in two away games

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids American Legion Post 9 took two wins in away games, during regular season play.

On June 19, the Rangers first beat the Stevens Point Sixers, at Bukolt Park in Stevens Point, 8-1.

Ethan Peters threw six innings for the Rangers, allowing one run on three hits.

Donovan Brandl went four-for-four from the plate with one RBI, and Garrett Huber hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to propel the Rangers to victory.

On June 20, the Post 9 Rangers took on DC Everest in a pitchers’ duel in Schofield.

Both teams were strong on the pitcher’s mound, but the Rangers defeated DC Everest, 2-1.

Caleb Krommenakker led things off on the mound for Post 9; he surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.
Jack Wenzel had a big lead-off double in the top of the seventh to score, securing the win for the Rangers.

Krommenakker went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Rangers in hits. Post 9 did not commit a single error.
