Rapids Police Blotter: June 18-24

June 24, 2019
Hostile youth
On June 24 at 8:28 p.m. a Wisconsin Rapids male reported that there were four young kids threatening that they were going to beat up other kids and throwing rocks. The man stated that he told the children who were issuing the threats to leave but that they would not and swore. The man stated that they did not have weapons and eventually left the scene.
June 23, 2019
Jumpy children
On June 23 at 4:01 p.m. it was reported by a Wisconsin Rapids female that there were four kids who were jumping in and out of traffic on South Eighth Street and Chestnut Street in Wisconsin Rapids. The complainant reported that there was one girl and three boys.
June 21, 2019
Love thy neighbor
On June 21 at 12:27 p.m. a Wisconsin Rapids female reported that she had heard a big bang earlier that morning around 3 a.m. and had just now discovered a broken window in her South 15th Avenue residence. The complainant named her neighbor as a possible suspect.
Furry prowler
On June 21 at 7:32 p.m. it was reported by a member of a Wisconsin Rapids church that there was a bear walking down the road on North First Street.

Alleged human trafficking
On June 20 at 12:16 p.m. a Wisconsin Rapids female requested welfare check on her daughter. The female alleged that the girl’s grandmother, who has full custody of the girl, is trying to sell her into human trafficking.
June 18, 2019
Hostile House Guest
On June 18 at 1:49 p.m. a Wisconsin Rapids female reported that she no longer felt safe at her residence due to threatening messages she had received. The complainant stated that one of her female friends had stayed with her but that she had told her to leave the residence. After leaving, the complainant began to receive threatening messages from the friend who had stayed with her, causing her to feel unsafe at her home.
