For the City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – For the past 20 years, the Wood County Master Gardeners group has worked with area homeowners who open their gardens and yards to hundreds of summer visitors. On July 13, the group will celebrate their 20th garden walk.

The Annual Garden Walk is the major fundraiser for this community organization of dedicated volunteers. Using the proceeds from the Garden Walk, the Master Gardener Volunteers support local horticulture and ecological education programs for the public and its members. The group sustains sites from all communities within their membership area.

All of the garden sites for 2019 are located in the Wisconsin Rapids and are included in the Garden Walk tickets.

Tickets are available at the following locations in Wisconsin Rapids: Wood County Master Gardeners, Angel Floral & Design, Daly Drug Inc., DNL Recreation, Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce, US Bank – Grand Avenue, UW Extension Office-Courthouse, Wisconsin Rapids Floral and Gifts, and Wunrow’s Greenhouse; Nekoosa: Beaver’s the Dime Store; Rome: D Green’s Garden, LLC, and Lester Public Library; and Rudolph: Urban’s Greenhouse.

For more information, call 715-421-8440, visit http://wood-county-master-gardeners.org, or find them on Facebook.
