Rangers pitchers rally for shutout

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Two Post 9 Rangers 18U pitchers rallied together in a July 8 shutout victory against DC Everest at Witter Field.

Post 9 got things started in the second inning. Garrett Huber singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
The Rangers tallied four runs in the third inning. Post 9’s offense in the inning came from doubles by Huber and Jack Wenzel and a single by Nathan Krommenakker.

Donovan Brandl was the winning pitcher for the Rangers. He went six innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out 11. Zwicke threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

The Rangers racked up 14 hits on the day. Krommenakker, Zwicke, and Huber each had three hits to lead Post 9. The team did not commit a single error in the field. Zwicke had 10 chances in the field, the most on the team.

Gabe Zwicke induced a groundout from Wyatt Miles to finish off the game, 8-0.
