Wood County to receive $11K for homelessness

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI – Wood County has been chosen to receive $11,410 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in Wood County.
Applications are being accepted for Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program funds from agencies that provide shelter, food, and supportive services for homeless individuals in Wood County.
United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties is the fiscal agent for an award of federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency under the EFSP.
Under the terms of the grant from the National EFSP Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must be private voluntary non-profits or units of government, eligible to receive federal funds, have an accounting system, practice nondiscrimination, have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and are a private voluntary organization and have a voluntary board.
