Wood County Parks & Forestry

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – All department personnel continue clean-up efforts and will continue to assess all recreation sites, roads, trails and the forest in the coming days.  Anyone visiting our recreational properties are encouraged to use caution.

We have not been able to assess the ATV Intensive Use or Powers Bluff Recreational Area.  We plan to assess the damage there early this week.  Until we assess the damage, we advise not using these areas.

The Lake Wazeecha walking path has several obstructions, and we advise that you not use this area until it is clear.

Priorities at this time are campgrounds and main roads to keep our customers safe.  After those areas are complete, we will move onto the Lake Wazeecha walking trail and other areas of Wood County.

All the Wood County Parks & Forestry boat landings are open.

Dexter and North Park Campgrounds have electricity. Due to high water, North Park’s main entrance is closed.  However, you may enter the campground through the back.  At all three of our campgrounds there are trees down or hung up and clean-up efforts continue.

South Park Campground does not have electricity at this time.  Once we have power, we will update that information in our website and on Facebook.

Please use caution and discretion when entering and utilizing our facilities as cleanup continues at our facilities.

If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to give us a call at 715-421-8422.
