Local volunteer opportunities available in South Wood and Adams counties
For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Multiple volunteer opportunities are available in the Adams and South Wood County areas. These include:
Villa Pines Living Center Activity Volunteers – Adams County
Volunteers are needed Aug. 9, 10 a.m. – noon, to accompany residents to the Adams County Fair, across the street from the center. Residents look forward to this outing and the center could use some extra hands to help.
American Red Cross – Card Playing Volunteers
If you like to fish or play blackjack, volunteers are needed to help veterans fish at the Tomah VA pond. Fishing takes place every other Saturday morning through early September. Volunteers are also needed to play blackjack with veterans the last Thursday evening of each month, to help deal and socialize.
Disaster Action Team Members
Disaster Action Team (DAT) members directly help people affected by disasters, ranging from home fires to tornadoes by providing food, shelter, essential relief supplies, and hope.
Blood Drive Volunteers
The Red Cross is looking for volunteers to assist at blood drives. Volunteers welcome and greet blood donors, hand out snacks, and thank donors.
