One dead in town of Seneca crash

SENECA – One person is dead following a crash in the town of Seneca.
On Sept. 7, the Wood County Sheriff’s department was called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Road and Elm Road in the town of Seneca.
When deputies arrived, they located a four-door passenger vehicle. The female driver, the sole occupant, was removed from the vehicle and later pronounced dead.
Initial investigation suggests that the vehicle was travelling south on North Road, when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a large tree.
The Wood County Sheriff’s department was assisted by Wood County Rescue, Vesper Fire, United Ambulance, and the Wood County Coroner’s office.
The name of the driver has not been released. The crash remains under investigation.
