SENECA – The individual who died following a crash in the town of Seneca has been identified.

On Sept. 7, the Wood County Sheriff’s department was called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Road and Elm Road in the town of Seneca.

When deputies arrived, they located a four-door passenger vehicle. The female driver, identified as 41-year-old Amy Marie Mancil, of Rudolph, was the lone occupant in the vehicle.

Mancil was removed from the vehicle and later pronounced dead.

Initial investigation suggests that Mancil was travelling south on North Road, when she failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a large tree.

The Wood County Sheriff’s department was assisted by Wood County Rescue, Vesper Fire, United Ambulance, and the Wood County Coroner’s office.

The crash remains under investigation.
