Grand Rapids to hold Choose to Re-Use Day

GRAND RAPIDS – The town of Grand Rapids will host a South Wood County Area “Choose to Re-Use” day on Sept. 21.

Residents from South Wood County are welcome to donate, pick, and browse during the event.

Donate items that you want to discard, but someone else can use, such as: appliances, lawn care items, household goods, bicycles, season decorations, knick knacks, office equipment, books, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, records, clothes, tools, electric motors, vacuum cleaners, and other usable items.

Items free for recycling include: car batteries, oil, washers, dryers, refrigerators, microwaves, humidifiers, computer hard drives, stereos, radios, cell phones, and other electronic equipment.

Charges apply for the disposal of tires, printers, copiers, scanners, computer monitors, and televisions.

The event will be held 8 a.m. – noon at the Grand Rapids Town Garage, 2811 Two Mile Ave., Wisconsin Rapids.
