CENTRAL WISCONSIN – More than 80 communities across Wisconsin are hosting activities during the 2019 Wisconsin Science Festival (WSF), now in its ninth year. Central Wisconsin will be the site of three programs running in conjunction with the festival.

Laura Heisler, director of the Wisconsin Science Festival, says that meeting people where they are is an important part of introducing new audiences to science topics.

“We hope to connect everyone to their inner scientists, and sometimes that means connecting through unusual and unconventional avenues like the arts, entertainment and food,” Heisler says.

Central Wisconsin Science Festival activities, include: MCHS Science for Families, Oct. 19, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute, Melvin Laird Center – Erdman Lobby, MCHS, 1000 N. Oak Av., Marshfield; Owl Banding with Dick Thiel, Oct. 19, 6:30-10:30 p.m., at the Sandhill Wildlife Area, 1715 County Hwy X, Babcock; and Gods of the Solar System, Oct. 20, 2-3:30 p.m. at the UW-Stevens Point Science Building, UWSP, 2100 Main St., Stevens Point.
