Victims identified in Nekoosa crash

NEKOOSA – Two people are dead after an accident on Highway 173 by County Rd GG, near Nekoosa.

On Oct. 9, a box truck being driven by Jason Dahms, 45, Custer, was heading east on Highway 173 and crossed into the westbound lane to get around some Wood County Highway Department construction.

Dahms then hit a dump truck in the westbound lane being driven by Edward Singstock, 57, of Wisconsin Rapids.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Multiple departments responded, including:  the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Nekoosa Fire Department, Port Edwards Fire Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Wood County Sheriff’s Rescue.

The crash is still under investigation.
