BLAINE, MN – The Riverkings leave the Minnesota Showcase with a 3-1 record on the weekend with wins over the Minnesota Moose, 4-3; Minnesota Mullets, 3-1; and Rum River Mallards, 2-1; with a hard fought loss against the Minnesota Blue Ox, 2-1.

Jered Stevenson had a strong weekend scoring three goals in four games, along with a pair of goals coming from team captain, Cole Creger. Jordan Stear, Patrick McCoy, and Luke Millius each scored a goal during the weekend.

The Riverkings now come back home for the next two weeks, with an 11-3 record, 13 of which were played away from home.

Haralds Jirgens and Zack Hartley each took home “Midwest Region Defensemen of the Week” honors during the first part of the season, with Jered Stevenson, Cole Creger, and Patrick McCoy leading the way on offense.
“Going into the year, I knew that playing 13 of the first 14 games on the road was going to be a grueling stretch for the boys, but it was a great opportunity for the team to come together and grow as a family. I’m very proud of how the boys have fought during this stretch of games, and we’re excited to be back at the South Wood County Recreation Center for the next couple of weeks.” said Head Coach Marty Quarters, after the win against Rum River.
The Riverkings start their short home stretch with a two-game series against rivals, the Chicago Cougars, Nov. 1- 2, followed by a two-game series at home against the Rum River Mallards Nov. 8- 9. All four games start at 7 p.m. at the South Wood County Recreation Center, 2711 16th St. South, Wisconsin Rapids.
