Bertotto named DAISY award winner
For the City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Brandon Bertotto, RN, was recognized with the DAISY Award by Ascension at Home, during a ceremony on Oct. 25.
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award recognizes “the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.” The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, CA, and was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes.
Brandon was nominated by a colleague that stated, “While many would have declared it too dangerous to venture to their patients’ homes, Brandon took extraordinary steps to ensure that he took care of his patients in their time of need. This extra effort brought solace and comfort to his patients and their families, who appreciated that someone was watching out for them.”
This is the fourth year Ascension at Home has been participating in the DAISY Award program. Recipients are selected quarterly, based on their clinical expertise and demonstration of extraordinary compassionate care.
