WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings hockey team remain first in standings after Nov. 8-9 play in front of large home crowds.

The Riverkings played a hard fought series against the Rum River Mallards. The Riverkings fought for every minute of both games, but it was not enough as they dropped both games – 3-2 the first night and 2-1 the second night, after going all the way to a shootout.

Night one saw goals from Colton Flammini and Jered Stevenson, with Markus Cook and Dawson LeDuc assisting.

The next night saw Jordan Stear score off the rebound created by Stevenson and Pat McCoy.

Though the Riverkings weren’t able to pick up a win, the one point they picked up Saturday means they had enough to maintain their top spot in the Midwest West Division standings.

The Riverkings now head to Boston for the USPHL Merrimack Showcase.
