By Mackenzie Boivin
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings finished the Chicago Showcase tournament, held at various venues in the Chicago area, at 3-1.
The team had an excellent showing as they defeated their first three teams allowing only one goal.
The Riverkings played one of their toughest games of the season in their fourth and final game, as they faced the Metro Jets. The teams pushed the game into a five-man shootout, losing at the last moment.
The team had a wide range of point grabbers, as newcomer Nathan Bottles grabbed his first goal as a Riverking and rookie Joe Blair claimed his first point of the season, with an assist.
Assistant Captain Zack Hartley played his 100th game as a Riverking over the showcase series.
The Riverkings head into the break with a 21-6-0-0-2 record before returning in 2020 for the second half of the season.
