Nekoosa beats Necedah, 54-44

For Wisconsin Rapids City Times

NECEDAH – Nekoosa boys basketball met up with Necedah, for a non conference game on Jan. 7 at Necedah High school, winning the contest, 54-44.

After tying 10-10 in the first half, Nekoosa started a 17-4 run to take a 27-14 lead to finish the half.

In the second half, Necedah outscored the Papermakers, 30-27, but it wasn’t enough to cut the lead.

High scorers for Nekoosa were Jace Lobner, with 20 points, and teammates Trent Waltenberg and Damek Walker each adding nine.

Leading Necedah was Jaron Murphy, with 14 points, while Emanuele Giovi had 11.

Nekoosa moves to 3-4 overall and travels to Wisconsin Dells for a conference game on Jan. 10.
