WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Pets are the stars of the show at Central Wisconsin Cultural Center’s “Promenade of Pets” art exhibit.

This free, animal-themed art exhibit will open with a reception on Jan. 16, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Come meet the artists and enjoy refreshments.

Entries include: paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, paper māché, and 3D works of art.

The show will feature Midwest artist Steve Wirtz, who creates laminated paper sculptures of dogs, cats, and other animals, often depicting humorous situations. Wirtz has exhibited around the country and has collectors of his art from around the globe.

“We’re delighted with the creativity and variety of all entries,” said Stephen Kipfer, Cultural Center board president.

Local artists exhibiting their work include: Vern Borth, Robert Cline, Roger McCleod Crump, Jennifer Dolan, Zachary Ervin, Tammy Farley, Emmaline Fitzgerald, Tom Freidel, Rivariana Greenleaf, Diane Brown-Hahn, Jeffrey Johannes, Kathy Kehl, Jacalyn Kreuser, Amber Lobner, Maddy Matthews, Jennifer Pichler, Laura Potter, Mark Reiss, Barbara Rihm, Dodi Saumer, Barbara Schenk, Bonnie Barr-Schneider, Diane Urbans, Jeanne Weymouth, and Marlene Winters.

The exhibit ends on March 19.

The Cultural Center is located at 320 W. Grand Ave., Suite 104, Wisconsin Rapids. For more information, visit culturalcenterarts.com or call 715-421-4598.
