Thurber, Rottier shine in Augsburg dual

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The UW-Stevens Point women’s wrestling team dropped a 30-12 dual at Augsburg on Jan. 19.
Brooke Thurber (Nekoosa) pinned her opponent in the match at 116 to improve to 16-4 on the year. Jessika Rottier (Pulaski) also pinned her opponent in the 170 match to move to 5-0 since joining the roster.
At 143, Megan Struble (Seymour) wrestled to a 6-6 tie, but fell on criteria. Abby Nelson (Iron River), Alice Todryk (Sparta) and Addison Young (New London) also competed for the Pointers in the dual.
UWSP will be in action again on Feb. 8 at the Bearcat Invitational in Lebanon, IL. The first match is set to begin at 9 a.m.
