Athens 3-pointers help bring down Papermakers

ATHENS – Nekoosa Boys Basketball played a non-conference at Athens on Jan. 21 and lost to the Bluejays with the help of some second half 3-pointers.
The game was back and forth the first half, with Nekoosa down 23-22 at the half.
Athens shot well from 3-point range in the second half and ended up winning 56-44.
Nekoosa’s lead scorers for the night were Trent Waltenberg with 14, with Jace Lobner adding 13 and Aaron Merritt adding 11.
Nekoosa moves to 3-7 overall.
The Papermaker’s next game is Jan. 24 – a conference matchup at Adams-Friendship.
