Aspiring Women Ladies Night Out offers information on heart failure
For the City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Heart failure affects nearly six million Americans and is the leading cause of hospitalization in people over 65. Aspirus invites all ladies to learn about this common and potentially fatal condition at “Listen to Your Heart… Beating Heart Failure,” a free Aspiring Women Ladies Night Out.
Cardiologist Dr. Robert Martin of Aspirus Heart & Vascular at Aspirus Riverview Hospital will explain the risk factors, symptoms, and treatment options, as well as the lifestyle modifications that can help avoid or manage heart failure.
Prior to Dr. Martin’s presentation, ladies may enjoy heart-healthy appetizer samples, a cash bar and informational exhibits by: Aspirus Ideal Weight Solution, Aspirus Riverview’s cardiopulmonary rehabilitation team, and Aspirus Riverview’s stroke team.
Everyone who attends will take home heart-healthy recipes and an Aspiring Women gift.
Attendance is free with a suggested donation of a box of granola bars for the Rapids Family Backpacks and A-F Snack Pack programs, which send packs home on weekends with students struggling with hunger.
The event will be held from 4:45-7 p.m. at the Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids on Feb. 13 and at Moundview Golf Course in Friendship on Feb. 27. Ladies may register for the night out most convenient for them.
Ladies attending the night out in Friendship will also have the opportunity to meet Nurse Practitioner Jill Bohn-Wolfe from the Aspirus Adams clinic.
Advance registration is required. To register, visit aspirus.org/AspiringWomen or call 1-800-847-4707.
