Be our guest: Saratoga Concerned offers free screening

The grassroots community group Saratoga Concerned, in partnership with Rogers Cinema, is excited to offer a free screening of the incredible documentary Right To Harm, by Hourglass Films.  This riveting and heart-wrenching documentary depicts five communities’ struggles against the economic and severe health impacts of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs).

Residents of the Wood County township of Saratoga have openly opposed the placement of the Wysocki Dairy CAFO for the past 8 years. Countless individuals have learned a great deal about family-run agriculture versus corporate-run agriculture, the pros and cons of each system, including the potential impacts on our water systems and personal health.

Although Saratoga’s battle against Wysocki is not featured in the documentary, it can be seen woven within the fabric of the stories shared. From the united vision of a community joining together to fight, countless meetings held in local living rooms, and the unsung bravery of citizens taking the fight to their local elected officials and state legislators. Each and every event represents an aspect of the battle the township of Saratoga has participated in.

Right to Harm is being screened at film festivals nationwide, it is an honor for us to be able to bring it to you right here in Central Wisconsin free of charge.

Please join us to view this outstanding production on Monday, Feb. 10, 6:45 p.m. at Rogers Cinema Wisconsin Rapids.
