Port Edwards boys win thriller over Rosholt

PORT EDWARDS – Port Edwards boys basketball hosted Central Wisconsin South rival Rosholt on Feb. 7, where they won a close thriller, 68-65.
Port Edwards had a small lead at the half, 29-26. Rosholt powered back in the second half, nearly getting their second conference win; however, but fell just short.
Leading Port Edwards in scoring was Nathan Gibbs with 20 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Adding to Port’s score was David Gibbs, with 15 points, and Quinton Tranel with 11.
Rosholt was led by Sam Trzebiatowski, scoring 19, and Tony Lemke added 16.
Port Edwards’ record improved to 4-5 in the conference, while Rosholt fell to 1-9.
The Hornets will face Amherst on Feb. 11 and Tri-County on Feb. 13. Port Edwards hosts Pittsville on Feb. 13.
