CENTRAL WISCONSIN – Central Wisconsin schools are invited to apply for Cool Water Program grants through the Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation.

The grants are provided to install new water bottle filling stations and fountains. Delta Dental says that drinking fluoridated water is key to keeping teeth healthy and cavity free.

Last year, the program provided $85,000 in grants to 20 elementary and middle schools across Wisconsin. Central Wisconsin recipients include: Howe Elementary, Wisconsin Rapids and Point of Discovery School, Stevens Point.

To apply, schools must have a free and reduced lunch rate of 40 percent or higher. Preference is given to schools in a community with optimally fluoridated water and schools without a water fountain/bottle filling station already installed.

Selection will be based on the most creative and impactful implementation plan to encourage students and staff to drink more water.

The applications are open through March 27. Selected schools will be announced in April.
