Alexander House to host youth art show

PORT EDWARDS – Youth Art Month is being celebrated during March at the Alexander House, 1131 Wisconsin River Dr., Port Edwards, with a showing of over 100 pieces created by students of Nekoosa Public Schools.
The show will open with a public reception on March 1, 1-4 p.m.
Students representing Humke Elementary, Alexander Middle School, and Nekoosa High School will exhibit their artwork in two and three dimensional media. These young artists are the students of Missy Rokser, Amy Reardon, and Laurie Tenpas.
The exhibit will continue through March 31.
Youth Art Month is recognized and celebrated in the state by the Wisconsin Art Education Association and throughout the United States by the National Art Education Association. It is a month of promoting art and art education in the United States for grades K-12 and emphasizes the value of art education.
Each year, the Alexander House supports Youth Art Month with a show of student work.
