WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids Mayor Zach Vruwink has appointed Stevens Point Zoning Administrator Kyle Kearns as Rapids’ new community development director.

Kearns is replacing Adam Tegen, who left in October to pursue opportunities in Manitowoc. Tegen held the position for nine years before taking his leave.

“We are really excited to have someone that has a lot of experience in economic development,” Vruwink said in an interview with the City Times. “That office is my counterpart as it relates to economic development projects, so I look forward to having that position filled again with someone with a lot of energy and enthusiasm.”

Kearns will begin his role with Wisconsin Rapids in mid-March.
