For the City Times

NEKOOSA – Nekoosa boys basketball played at Iola-Scandinavia in a non-conference matchup on Feb. 24 and came away with a loss.

Though Nekoosa came in as an underdog, the Papermakers were able to keep the game close in the first half, down 26-19 at the break. Iola’s guard play was too much to handle though as they beat Nekoosa 67-39.

Leading Nekoosa on the court was Trent Waltenberg with 10 points. Teammates Jace Lobner and Damek Walker each added nine.

Nekoosa moved to 4-17 on the year. They will host Adams-Friendship in a conference game on Feb. 27.
