WISCONSIN RAPIDS – A Wisconsin Rapids teen is in the hospital after he was hit by a pickup truck while crossing West Grand Avenue in Wisconsin Rapids on March 2.

The 17-year-old was in the crosswalk at the 10th Avenue intersection shortly before 8 p.m. and had activated the crosswalk lights, when he was hit by a pickup being driven by a 59-year-old Stevens Point man.

The man was cited for inattentive driving and failure to yield to a pedestrian.

The 17-year-old was transported to Marshfield Medical Center, where he is being treated for a concussion.
