League of Women Voters to host redistricting panel

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The League of Women Voters – Wisconsin Rapids Area is offering a panel discussion on redistricting which is free and open to the public. This event will take place March 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center of McMillan Memorial Library, 490 E. Grand Ave., Wisconsin Rapids.
Featured panelists include: Dr. Ed Miller, professor emeritus UW-Stevens Point; Wood County District 8 Supervisor Jake Hahn; and Ann Stevning-Roe, Marshfield attorney and Plaintiff in Whifford v. Gill. Panelists will discuss the historical aspects of redistricting, the advisory referendum which will appear on the April 7 ballot and recent law cases which have dealt with the issue.
