Letter to the Editor: Reader calls for well-qualified leadership in Rapids

Dear editor,

Shane Blaser would bring well-qualified leadership to Wisconsin Rapids.

As longtime residents of our lovely city, we know what we like:  a clean, safe community with reliable services and affordable housing and taxes.

Realistic planning, responsible spending and constant open communication and attention to our businesses will ensure that Wisconsin Rapids remains a city for all.

Shane has been deeply involved in Wisconsin Rapids city government during his employment as city clerk and his current position as an alderperson on the common council.  He is a former policeman and owns and operates small businesses here, so has firsthand knowledge of the needs therein.  His family supports his willingness to work for us as mayor and his supporters know well that he is an honest, open, considerate and knowledgeable leader who believes strongly in teamwork.

Please join me in voting for Shane Blaser for Mayor on April 7 or earlier by absentee ballot.  Our future depends on this change.
