WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Residents in the Nekoosa School District have said yes to two referendum questions to accommodate need requests by the board of education.

The first question allowed the district to exceed revenue limits by $2,000,000 per year from the 2020-21 school year through the 2024-25 school year to add student services staff for struggling students, upgrade technical education area, improve current programs, add needed teaching staff, and grow enrollment through Wisconsin Individualized Selected Education Virtual School.

The second referendum questions authorized bonding in the amount of $2,900,000 for improvements to the school athletic facilities.

The first referendum passed in a 2,043-1,154 vote during April 7 in-person voting and absentee votes tallied on April 13. The second referendum passed 1,717-1,441.
