Wood County Health Department issues reminder on garage and yard sales

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wood County Health Department is reminding county residents that garage sales, yard sales, or any other out-of-home sales are not allowed during the Safer at Home order.

“Spring cleaning, organizing, and decluttering is a great way to relieve stress, but this year we may need to hang on to unwanted items for a little longer,“ said Sue Kunferman, Wood County Health Department director and health officer.

A better alternative at this time is selling on an online platform with delivery via mail.

The departments said that the Safer at Home order is working.

“(In) Wisconsin, initial projections show that without Safer at Home, there would be significantly more cases of COVID-19 and deaths associated with COVID-19. By staying home we are flattening the curve,” a department release said.
