WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Growing Friends Community Garden is offering gardening space for those interested in growing their own fruits and vegetables.

Plots are located on the corner of Hill and Spruce, in Wisconsin Rapids; the group offers several four by eight foot raised beds for a minimal fee.

“This fee is waived or reduced if you receive any type of assistance,” said founder and manager, Laura Lokken. “We provide seeds and even plants if you need them so other than two hours of required volunteer time, and some sweat equity, it is virtually free.

“We are organic and do not allow pesticides or herbicides to be used that are not considered organic. “

The group asks that the garden plot is cleaned by Nov. 15.

For more information, contact Laura at growingfriendscg@gmail.com.

Forms may be downloaded from the Growing Friends Facebook page or picked up in the box in the bulletin board cabinet on the corner of Hill and Spruce or at First Congregational Church.
