Two injured in Saratoga crash

SARATOGA – Two drivers were injured in a May 24 town of Saratoga crash.

At 7:55 p.m., Wood County Central Dispatch received the report of a two vehicle crash on State Highway 13 near Tower Road in Saratoga.

It was reported one of the vehicles was overturned in the roadway.

Initial investigation indicated a Jeep was traveling southbound on State Highway 13, while a Tahoe was traveling northbound on 13. The Tahoe entered the southbound lane of traffic and collided with the Jeep.

The drivers were the sole occupants of the vehicles. The operator of the Jeep was transported by helicopter after being ejected from the vehicle and sustaining serious injuries. The operator of the Tahoe sustained minor injuries.

State Highway 13 was closed for approximately 2.5 hours during this incident.

Wood County deputies were assisted by Grand Rapids Police, Nekoosa Police, Wood County Sheriff’s Rescue, Wisconsin Rapids Fire/EM, Nekoosa Fire, Saratoga First Responders, Rome Fire, and Life Link III.

Names are not being released at this time.
