Truck and camper destroyed by fire

WOOD COUNTY – An electrical fire has destroyed a truck and camper. The fire broke out June 18 just before 8 p.m. on Highway 54 east of Highway 80, and a half-mile west of Hemlock Trail in the Wood County town of Cranmoor.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, no one was injured, but the truck and camper were considered total losses. Highway 54 was closed for about two hours, after debris melted onto the road. The units are owned by 43-year-old Cary Anderson of Nekoosa.
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Pittsville and Port Edwards police and fire departments, and the Wood County Highway Department.
