One person is dead after motorcycle and pickup collide

WOOD COUNTY – One man is dead after a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck. The crash occurred Oct. 4, just before 7:30 p.m., at County Highway G and Kimball Avenue just west of Nekoosa, in the town of Port Edwards.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, a westbound pickup on Highway G started turning southbound onto Kimball Avenue and turned into the path of an eastbound motorcycle. The operator of the bike was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident involved a 76-year-old Nekoosa man and a 29-year-old man from Davenport, IA. The police report did not indicate which individual was driving which vehicle.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Wood County Sheriff’s Rescue; the Wisconsin State Patrol; Nekoosa police, fire, and ambulance crews; Port Edwards first responders; and the Wood County Coroner’s Office.
