WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area presented their 2020 Blue Door Awards to Mid-State Technical College and Safe-Way Bus Transit, Inc. on Oct. 28.
The Blue Door Award was created several years ago to recognize donors and volunteers who have gone above and beyond in serving the Boys & Girls Club.
“The Club Board of Directors are grateful and lucky to have Mid-State and Safe -Way share their time, programs, and resources to help us make an impact on Club members, now and in the future,” said Fawn Gottschalk, board vice president.
The club also presented the community partnership award to Mid-State Technical College.
“In the last year Mid-State has offered year-round programming, allowing members to engage in career readiness and enrichment activities. Over 200 members from all three club locations have benefited from the college’s investment in ensuring youth in the community are exposed to the opportunities and possibilities after graduation,” a Boys & Girls Club release stated.
The second 2020 Blue Door Award was awarded to Safe-Way Bus Transit. For several years, Tracy Wardour, along with her family and Safe-Way team, have been strong supporters of the club. This year alone over 16,000 safe rides to and from school have been provided to club members. “
“Safe-Way supports the Boys & Girls Club because they are passionate about the children in our community. It’s easy to work hand in hand because we share the same passion of supporting today’s youth. We want what is best for our student’s well-being and the safety of our students is our top concern. They are today’s most precious cargo. We appreciate the hard work that the Boys & Girls Club does for all of our children. Keeping them safe and promoting a healthy well-being,” stated Wardour.
